Midnight Zapper

i sat listening to endless buzz
explosive pops
my neighbor's blue
spark arcing

not a green toy
instead
an all-night zapper

i wondered the point
of killing endless
bugs and bugs
many of whom were allies
in an endless fearless fight
against infest

but no.
the zapper slaughtered without relent

my next door neighbor
enjoyed -
not even home -
her thought,
often ended in her bathtub

we might intermingle in intimate ways
i spent hours and gallons killing day
imagining her

no friend existed
and
here is no second chance,
she merely lured her victim
and killed
like a common murderer,
a black widow

befriending
with a kiss
leaving with a wave

Art of Love - Status Quo

i'm not always
gonna say what
you like
i'm not
gonna even look like
what you like

but i will never lose you

because life,
its long and large web
will always hold us

with the idea
we are different
more
than everyone before
us

Government Benefit

Well, we elected a do-nothing
president
again
along with a do-nothing congress
again
and we can expect
nothing
again

sure
Supreme non-sense
changes
with presidents
but laws are written by congress
and broken
by presidents
who should not have been

when the great leave
the poor and unfortunate
remain
inspite of all their ritual
propaganda,
the rich and powerful
never lose
what a poor man gains

Mayan Principle II

this lady
of New Orleans
a pole dancer swinging around me
clearly Da Vinci on a pole
but Pretty
she makes me dream of insanity
this art flying above me,
wanting to be happy
she
can not last
no more than the butterfly
but she stays here
happily
and i am sad to see
her
but love each second i do

i pray she never goes
and pray and pray

but she slips away
far from me
far far away

Her

inhale.

i think about war,
the endless
never goes
anywhere

the one with her
breaking itself into love-making
chocolate brownies
and champagne there

i think about war,
the endless
never goes
anywhere

i think about love
and desire, but pause for breath,
because
we never were

and then i exhale

down a street a beggar goes
dancing
in a place i feel amazed

to be

and then i
inhale.

and think about war,
the endless
never goes
anywhere

Upper Class

i sat absorbed in my friends
all dining outside of Kris' Steak House
on a city mall
a picture i did not take
but totally own

drinking wine i did not notice
the young man's rant
behind me on a bike

'You livin high, you upper class ass!'

i was too obsessed with myself
to know he was there

never heard a word
until long after my friends spoke

a steak so perfect
expensively
delicious

after three bottles
of cellar Merlot

this i remember

Halloween

this is what we are when the masks come off
