A Few Thoughts

ones own thoughts about anything
that is all it takes to destroy
everything

everyone wants
one thing

joy,
that which taunts
is an ignorant beast

and the wise will fast
on that which haunts

but its relic endures powerless
standing beside truth
it pretends to show evidence no one hears
nor cares


we have grown immune
to pain
because of bad doctors
prescribing medications
to rich patrons worshiping
the pursuit of vanity
to which they say
'it is our children,
our only concern is longevity'

like we thought this would never be
we see it only in our children
their sad imitations 
of our poor representations


of what is right
