Pistachios

i remember observing a neighbor
at a gathering
throwing empty pistachio shells
into the garden from my sundeck,
and wondering to myself
if in one million years
an archeologist would appear
and ponder
if pistachios once grew here,
but by then
it might be
that pistachios
will have grown everywhere
and no one will have noticed anything
