i sat absorbed in my friends
all dining outside of Kris' Steak House
on a city mall
a picture i did not take
but totally own

drinking wine i did not notice
the young man's rant
behind me on a bike

'You livin high, you upper class ass!'

i was too obsessed with myself
to know he was there

never heard a word
until long after my friends spoke

a steak so perfect
expensively
delicious

after three bottles
of cellar Merlot
